Obituary of Michael Assaf

Michael V. Assaf, III Age 38, of Plainfield, IL, beloved husband and best friend to Anna (nee Rich) Assaf; loving father of Mikayla, Sean, Reese and Brendan; devoted son of Michael and Patricia (nee Baglieri) Assaf; dear brother of Anna (Christopher) Richey; dearest son-in-law to John and Marge (nee Giuliano) Rich; loving grandson-in-law to Frank (the late Kathleen) Giuliano; great-grandson-in-law to Opal (late Joe) Pinto; cherished brother-in-law to John, Danielle and Elizabeth; fond uncle to Bradley and Ryan; devoted cousin, nephew and friend of many. Preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Tony and Anna (nee Bradley) Baglieri; and paternal grandparents, Michael and Etta (nee Mello) Assaf. Michael taught math at Minooka High School and Joliet Junior College, and coached wrestling at Minooka Junior High. He was highly respected and held in the highest regard by all of his co-workers, students, students' parents as well as his family and friends. Michael believed in working hard and having fun. He was always willing to share his wisdom and knowledge with others. He touched many lives and was loved by all. Funeral Services for Michael will be Thursday, January 31, 2013 at 10:15 a.m. from the funeral home to Holy Family Catholic Church, Shorewood for a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorials in his name to Pancan.org to further pancreatic cancer research or to his Trust Fund at First Community Bank, 25407 S.
