Obituary of Marilyn Gestel

Marilyn K. Gestel (nee Cornolo) Age 77. At rest peacefully on Monday, January 28, 2013 at her late residence. Born in Lockport to the late Joseph and Christine (Rigoni) Cornolo. Residing in Joliet since 1958. A retired school teacher for district 86. Formerly a librarian at St. Paul School. Member of Harwood Post American Legion #5 Ladies Auxiliary and the Joliet Moose Lodge. Marilyn enjoyed collecting Marilyn Monroe and Elvis memorabilia. An avid reader and loved to shop. Survived are three sons, Fred Gestel of Channahon, David Gestel of Joliet and Robert Gestel of Kankakee; three grandchildren, Kristen, Keira and Tyler Gestel; one sister, Corrine (Bill) Davis of Wheaton, IL; two brothers, Bill (Betty) Cornolo of Joliet and Gene Cornolo of Joliet; several nieces and nephews also survive. Preceded by her husband, William (2006); her son, John (2012). Funeral Services for Marilyn K. Gestel will be held on Friday, February 1, 2013 at 10:45 a.m. from the funeral home chapel to St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church for a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:30 a.m. Enshrinement Woodlawn Memorial Park Mausoleum.
