Age 85. Peacefully Tuesday , July 3, 2007 at Joliet Area Community Hospice Home. Born in Joliet to the late Bartholomew and Beatrice (Archambeault) McGowan. A former resident of Lockport, relocating to Hawaii for 11 years, and Ft. Myers, FL for 21 years, coming home to Joliet in 2001. Graduate of St. Francis Academy (JCA) Class of 1939. Formerly employed as a Political Secretary, and also former manager of Hale Kai Resort in Maui, Hawaii. Member of St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church. Bea enjoyed sewing clothing and Halloween costumes for her family.
Surviving is her loving husband of 60 years, LeRoy G. Adelmann of Joliet; two children, Christine (John) McFarland of Joliet, and George (Beverly) Adelmann of Joliet; four grandchildren, Melissa (Brooke) Bavilacqua, Kelly (Ryan) Dooley, and Kyle and Carla Adelmann; four great-grandchildren, Chloe and Carly Bavilacqua and Gavin and Reese Dooley; and two sisters, Rachel Reigh and Agnes Lonergan. Numerous nieces and nephews also survive.
Preceded by her brother, Daniel McGowan, and her parents.
As it was Bea's final request, cremation rites have been accorded. A Memorial Mass will be Friday, July 6, 2007 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church, 18 Woodlawn Ave., Joliet. Visitation 9:00 a.m. until time of Mass. Inurnment Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery. Memorials in her name to Joliet Area Community Hospice would be appreciated. Arrangements by:
