Obituary of Joseph Haake

Joseph W. Haake Age 83. A lifelong resident of Joliet, passed away Monday, March 4, 2013 at Rosewood Care Center of Joliet surrounded by his family. Born in Lockport Township, IL on March 13, 1929 to William and Anna (nee Beystehner) Haake. Former owner of Joe's Arco in Lockport, IL and Fitzherny Oil in Joliet, IL. Member of St. Jude Church, coach of Belmont Little League and St. Bernard CYO Basketball League. Joseph is survived by his loving wife, Julia (nee Toth) of 63 years; children, Joseph (Marianne) Haake, Daniel (Ellen) Haake and Judith (Daniel) Matesi; grandfather of Brett (Jamie) Haake, Lauren (Jason) Piechocinski, Landen Haake (fiance, Eric Johanson), Aaron Berk, Shanna (Rainer) Schmidt, Chad (Shannon) Matesi, Kristin Matesi, Jeffrey Matesi, Jason Haake, Ryan (Jessica) Haake and David Haake, Jr.; great-grandfather of Kamryn and Katelyn Haake, Ryland and Layton Piechocinski, Madeline Matesi and Collin Haake; siblings, Helen (William) Stewart, Bernard Haake; sister-in-law, Elizabeth "Betty" Haake; and daughter-in-law, Patricia Haake. Preceded in death by his son, David and granddaughter, Jennifer Haake. Haake will be held Thursday, March 7, 2013 at 9:15 a.m. from Fred C. Dames Funeral Home, 3200 Black at Essington Rds., Joliet, IL to Church of St. Jude for 10:00 a.m. Mass. Entombment Woodlawn Memorial Park Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials in his name to the Joliet Area Community Hospice home would be appreciated.
