Obituary of Ricky Briones
Ricky R. Briones
Age 58. Went home to be with the Lord on February 22, 2010 surrounded by his family and friends. Born January 25, 1952 in Joliet. He married Melody Lane (nee Beavers) on January 21, 1995. He proudly served in the United States Air Force. Employed at Caterpillar, Inc., Joliet Plant for 30 years before retiring in 2002. He served as an EMT on the Channahon Volunteer Fire Department, and was also employed by Cardinal Fitness in Crest Hill. Member and very active with First Assembly of God Church in Joliet where he was head of the men's ministry. He enjoyed driving a school bus for First Student, Laid Law and Positive Connection for the past four years.
Ricky leaves behind to cherish his memory, his wife of 15 years, Melody; brothers, Larry (Brenda) and Jerry (Jackie) Briones; sisters, Joan (James) Sukle and Dianna (Don) Pluth; nieces, D'Annette (David) Dodson, Nancy (Dean) Beavers, Tara (Brian) Cotton, Shawn Briones, and Jill Briones; nephews, Mike Bak, Joe (Donna) Sukle, Jason (Michelle) Briones, and Cheyenne Briones; father-in-law, Dean (Barb) Beavers; brother-in-law of Art (Marie) and Richard (Sue) Beavers, Sandy (Kevin) Carter and Ronnie (John) Langley; numerous great-nieces and great-nephews; many loving friends and his cherished pup, Teddy Bear also survive.
Preceding him in death was his mother, Mary L. Briones (1975); mother-in-law, Milidean (Boswell) Beavers (1997); brother-in-law, Larry Bak (1987); and his paternal and maternal grandparents..
The family would like to give a special thanks to the 4th floor staff at Provena Saint Joseph Medical Center, especially volunteer Margaret; and dear friends, Steve and Denice Miliotti.
Funeral Services for Ricky R. Briones will be Monday, March 1, 2010 at First Assembly of God Church, 1741 Essington Rd., Joliet where he will Lie in State from 10:00 a.m. until time of services at 11:00 a.m. Interment with full military honors at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials to the family c/o First Assembly of God Church would be appreciated. Visitation Sunday 2-8 p.m. at:
