Obituary of Charles Riordan

Charles D. Riordan "Beans" Age 87, of Joliet and formerly of Reddick, IL, passed away peacefully Thursday, March 21, 2013 at Presence Saint Joseph Medical Center. Born December 3, 1925 to the late Clement and Edith (nee Ruder) Riordan of Reddick, where he was raised. He attended and graduated from Reddick Community High School on May 21, 1943. He enlisted in the United States Navy on November 5, 1943 Co. 956, and was a World War II veteran serving from 1943-1946. He worked at several chemical plants and also worked the family farm until his death. Member of the American Legion Post #1080 of Joliet. Preceded in death by his parents. Chuck is survived by his wife of 35 years, Juanita (nee Young) Riordan; two children, John (Gail) Riordan and Diane (Reese) LeRoy both of Reddick; grandchildren, Sean, Chelsi and Ian; several great-grandchildren; two sisters, Rosemary Brooks and Marie Duval; one brother, Norman of Herscher; five stepchildren, Lee Young of Peoria, Larry of Portage, IN, Gary of Palos Park, Ed of Joliet and Pat of Joliet; and nieces and nephews. Funeral Services for Chuck Riordan will be Monday, March 25, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. at the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home, 3200 Black at Essington Rds., Joliet. Interment Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery.
