Obituary of Mary Kaveney

Mary K. Kaveney (nee Hayes) Mary Kathryn Kaveney, age 87, died in Morris, IL on Thursday, March 21, 2013. Mary suffered from dementia and poor health for several years. Born June 29, 1925, in Wilmington, IL. She was raised in the Wilmington and Coal City areas. She moved to Joliet with her family as a teenager, graduated from Providence High School, and later worked at Chicago Title and Trust in downtown Joliet. She married Raymond J. Kaveney on June 14, 1947. She worked at Montgomery Ward in various positions, including several years as a credit manager. Additionally, she was employed as manager of Will County Mobile Homes for many years until retirement in 1990. She moved to Morris in 2002. Survivors include two daughters, Patricia (James R.) Malone of Morris and Mary (Ralph) Pope of Antelope, CA; six grandchildren, Cindy (Rodney) Jenkins, Jeff Malone both of Morris, IL, Dawn (Bill) Lambert of Westfield, IN, Mark (Brandy) Malone of Minooka, IL, Michael Pope of Antelope, CA and Kristin Pope of Jackson Hole, WY; six great-grandchildren, Amanda and Jessica Jenkins, Alex and Austin Lambert, Noah Malone and baby Annalise Malone to be born later this month; one brother, Robert (Shirley) Hayes of Cary, NC and one sister-in-law, Ruth Hayes of Joliet, IL. Several nieces and nephews also survive. Preceded in death by her husband, Raymond J. Kaveney (1979) and one granddaughter, Kathleen Malone (1969); her parents, Nelle and John P. Hayes; her brothers and sisters, John D. Hayes, Margaret (Andy) Fallon, Clarence (Beverly) Hayes and Helen (Larry) Welch. Private funeral and burial services were held on Monday, March 25, 2013. Burial was in Resurrection Mausoleum in Romeoville. Fred C. Dames Funeral Home, Morris, IL was in charge of arrangements.
