Obituary of Robert Goodwin

Robert A. Goodwin Age 56, of New Lenox, and formerly of Chicago, passed away suddenly on Wednesday, April 10, 2013 at Silver Cross Hospital. Born August 20, 1956 in Chicago, he was the son of Robert U. and Evelyn (nee Holtz) Goodwin. He was a volunteer firefighter for the Central Stickney Fire Department before joining the Chicago Fire Department where he served 31 years prior to retiring. He was currently working as an auxiliary policeman for the Stickney Police Department, and enjoying welding with his friends Harry and Dale at their business, Entech. Bob loved life, his family and his friends. He had a special place in his heart for animals, cars, motorcycles, cooking and barbequing. Surviving are his beloved wife, Kimberly A. (nee Kweiser) Goodwin; his stepchildren, Kyle Tynor and Brittany Tynor; his father, Robert Goodwin of Hickory Hills; two sisters, Patricia Goodwin of Palos Hills and Lynn (Tim) Koeppen of Plainfield; one brother, William Goodwin of New Lenox; his nieces and nephew, Allison, Christopher and Rachel Koeppen; and his beloved pets, Leo, Honey Buns and Frogger. He was preceded by his mother, Evelyn Goodwin. A Memorial Service and celebration of Bob's life will be held at a later date.
