Obituary of Norman Bray
Norman D. Bray
Age 72, of Joliet and formerly of Independence, MO, passed away Friday, April 19, 2013 with his family at his side. A graduate of Wilmington High School, class of '59. A United States Army veteran. Norm was previously employed at Bill Jacob in Wilmington, Argonne Laboratories, and Ford Motor Company where he worked for 37 years until his retirement in 2005. He enjoyed fishing, bowling and listening to Elvis. He started the Elvis Conventions in Kansas City, MO and and is well known at Graceland, Memphis, TN.
Survived by his wife, Mary Ann (nee Harrell) (Ammons) Bray; three sons, Jeff, James and Richard Bray; three daughters, Catherine, Michelle, and Lisa; one stepson, James Ammons; five stepdaughters, Shari Beaver, Lesli Larr, Christi Hartsfield, Bonni Johnson and Jodi Severson; twin sister, Norma McCoy; three brothers, Lee, Don and Chuck Bray; several grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; and dear friend Bernie Fredericks.
All friends and relatives are invited to meet on Wednesday, April 24, 2013 at the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home, 3200 Black at Essington Rd., Joliet, at 1:30 p.m. to join the funeral procession to Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery in Elwood where committal services will take place at 2:30 p.m. with military honors conducted by the U.S. Army.
