Obituary of Peter Thiakos

Peter S. Thiakos Age 44. Suddenly Tuesday, April 23, 2013 at Presence St. Joseph Medical Center as the result of an apparent heart attack. Born in Oak Lawn and longtime Shorewood area resident. A graduate of the College of St. Francis, attended Loyola University and Arizona State University. A graduate of Joliet West High School Class of 1986. Owner and operator of Thiakos Wholesale Incorporated Restaurant Supply. Work and family was Peter's life and what he cared about most. Survived by his loving parents, Spyridon and Angela (nee Georgis) Thiakos of Shorewood; two beloved brothers, Tom of Bolingbrook and Billy Thiakos of Lemont; one cherished sister, Sophia (Nikolas) Gkotsis of Joliet; proud uncle of Dennis Gkotsis; numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins including the special relationship with cousin, Sophia Siebert; many close and dear friends also survive. Funeral Services for Peter S. Thiakos will be held Saturday, April 27, 2013 where family and friends are invited at 12 noon at All Saints Greek Orthodox Church, 102 N. Broadway in Joliet. Interment Woodlawn Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation Friday 4-8 p.m. with Trisagion Services at 6:30 p.m. at the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home, 3200 Black at Essington Rds., Joliet.
