I remember alot of things from my childhood. Some of the warmest memories are of Grandma Betty. She was a caring, truly spirited woman. Everything she did with her own special kind of zest for life. Some of the best times were when I got to visit with her on Saturdays and we would cook and bake. One of my favorite days was when she was showing me how to make her amazing turtle brownies. She was so funny! We had a mess all over the kitchen when I spilled flour and then proceeded to step through it. I said "Oh no Grandma, I'm so sorry. I'll clean it up right away." She looked at me and pulled me to her and gave me a huge hug and said "Come here girl. What's a baking day without a little mess." Then she sat on the floor, pulled me down next to her and put flour all over our clothes and faces. We laughed so hard!
I hadn't seen Grandma in a very long time. I wish things would have been different. I thought of her often and remembered fondly.
She was a pillar of strength, a vessel of understanding and a wealth of compassion. May you finally find the same peace in heaven as you gave while you were here with us on earth.
I love you and miss you Grandma.
Love,
Missy
