Obituary of Patti Wirtz

Patti J. Wirtz (nee Rossi) Age 78, of Channahon, passed away suddenly Monday, June 10, 2013 at Northwestern Memorial Hospital, Chicago, with her sons by her side. Born in 1935 in Des Moines, IA, and a resident of the area for over 50 years. Patti enjoyed working with arts and crafts, porcelain dolls, her garden and decorating for Christmas. She loved her sons and grandchildren dearly, and will be missed by her many friends. Survived by her four sons, John (Linda) of Roswell, GA, Tom of Granger, IN, Steve (Janice) of Allison Park, PA and Edward (Rhonda) Wirtz of Brentwood, CA; eight grandchildren, Michael, David, Matthew, and Douglas; Paul and Jarod, and Timothy and Rachel. Preceded in death by her husband, Edward A. Wirtz (2005); her parents, John C. and Iva A. (nee Ennis) Rossi. Funeral services for Patricia J. Wirtz will be Tuesday, June 18, 2013 at 9:15 a.m. from the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home, 3200 Black at Essington Rd., Joliet to the Church of St. Jude for a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Interment Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials to the Church of St. Jude or the American Heart Association would be appreciated. Visitation Monday, 4-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
