Sophie A. Levek
(nee Sparazynski)
Age 93, of Joliet, passed away Tuesday, June 11, 2013 at the Joliet Area Community Hospice Home surrounded by her loving family. Born March 12, 1920 in Joliet, she was a lifelong resident. Member of Holy Cross Catholic Church and its Rosary Society. She was also a member of Cantigny Post #367 VFW Ladies Auxiliary and the Polish National Alliance.
Sophie will be remembered as a devoted wife, a loving mother and a dearly loved grandma and great-grandma.
Surviving are her children, Raymond (Nancy) Levek of Florissant, MO, Virginia Levek of Joliet, Marilyn (Richard) Sorg of Joliet and Karen (Raymond) Rogers of Channahon; seven grandchildren, Kate (Kenan) Brandes, Daniel and Marie Levek, Eric (Katie) Sorg, Adam Sorg, David and Angela Rogers; three great-grandchildren, Dominic, Vaughn and Quentin Brandes; one sister, Irene Sparazynski of Joliet; sister-in-law, Rose (late Joseph) Sparazynski; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Preceded by her beloved husband of 66 years, Raymond J. Levek (Feb. 1, 2010); her son, Joseph in infancy; parents, Stephen and Angela (nee Kubisty) Sparazynski; two brothers, Frank and Joseph Sparazynski; two sisters, Helen (John) Pucel and Catherine (Anthony) Renkosik.
Funeral Services for Sophie A. Levek will be Friday, June 14, 2013 at 9:15 a.m. from the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home, 3200 Black at Essington Rd., Joliet to Holy Cross Catholic Church for Mass at 10:00 a.m. Interment Holy Cross Cemetery.
