Jesse W. Fugett
Age 90. At rest Saturday, June 22, 2013 at Presence Saint Joseph Medical Center. Born in Kentucky, the son of the late Grandville and Bertha (nee Porter) Fugett, he was raised in Manhattan, IL and resided in Joliet the past 72 years. Graduate of Peotone High School Class of 1940. A U.S. Army veteran of WWII, he served in Europe with the 44th Infantry Division. Retired from Reynolds Metals in 1985. Formerly employed in the construction trade. Jesse loved reading and traveling.
Survived by his loving wife of 67 years, Goldia (nee DeHart) Fugett of Joliet; four children, Dennis Fugett of Joliet, Judy (Dennis) Ryan of Collierville TN, J. David (Sally) Fugett of Minooka and John (Cynthia) Fugett of Channahon; seven grandchildren, Duane, Liz, Laura, Jennifer, Ryan, Logan and Nick; one great-granddaughter, McKenna with one great-granddaughter on the way; and numerous nieces and nephews, including special niece, Marlene.
Preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Mabel Hall; two brothers, Estel and Lonnie Fugett.
Funeral Services for Jesse W. Fugett will be Wednesday, June 26, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home, 3200 Black at Essington Rd., Joliet.
