Brown, Roger D.
Age 67. Thursday, November 10, 2011 at his late residence following a two year battle with cancer. Born in Grenada, MS to the late Mabry and Louis (nee Woodard) Brown, residing in Joliet most of his life. Member of the Illinois National Guard. Formerly employed by Olin Chemical Company and Hendrickson Stamping, retiring in 2008. He was an avid camper in Seneca, IL.
Surviving are his loving wife of 24 years, Mary (nee Colbert) Brown of Joliet; his children, Angela (Robert) Sams of Shorewood, David Bigley of Joliet, Valerie (Fred) Viano of Wilmington, Dana (Cliff) Aldridge of Mississippi, Jeff (Sherry) Brown of Mississippi, and Heidi Brown of Indiana; three grandchildren, Olivia Sams, Ceara and Jaclyn Viano; two brothers, Fred (Barbara) of Mississippi and Glen (Geraldine) Brown of Georgia; two sisters, Sarah (late Joe) Alldread and Jewel (late Hugh) Gatson both of Mississippi; his sister-in-law, Emma Brown; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Preceded in death by one grandson, Stephen; and one brother, William.
Funeral Services for Roger D. Brown will be Tuesday, November 15, 2011 at 9:30 a.m. at the funeral home chapel. Enshrinement Resurrection Mausoleum. In lieu of flowers, memorials in his name to Joliet Area Community Hospice would be appreciated. Visitation Monday 3-8 p.m. at:
