Obituary of David Shires

David S. Shires Age 59. Suddenly Wednesday, June 26, 2013 at his late residence. Born in Chicago, residing in Joliet the past 10 years. Attended school in Lincolnwood, IL. Formerly employed by Meadowbrook Manor as their administrator. Owner and founder of DSS Custom Guitars. A true genius when it came to building his own computers and electric guitars. David traveled with the Grateful Dead as their soundman. He loved trains, model airplanes and photography. Survived are his loving wife, Patricia A. Long of Joliet; three daughters, Heather and Brittany Long and Haley Shires all of Joliet; mother-in-law, Carol Hladky of Shorewood; sister-in-law, Elizabeth (Jesse Bartleman) Hladky of Lemont; best friend of many years, Lisa (Stanley Boyd) Subaric of Bolingbrook. Preceded in death by his parents. Funeral Services for David S. Shires will be held on Friday, June 28, 2013 at 7:30 p.m. at the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home, 3200 Black at Essington Rds., Joliet.
