Obituary of Rebecca Sova

Rebecca Rose Sova "Becky" Age 18, of Joliet, passed away Tuesday, July 2, 2013 with family and friends by her side. Graduate of Joliet West High School, Class of 2013 with perfect attendance, and St. Raymond's Grade School in 2009. Becky was to attend Southern Illinois University this fall with an academic scholarship working towards a nursing degree. She worked at Essington Place in Joliet where she served the residents and established many close bonds with the seniors living there. Becky was a fun and happy individual whose smile and laughter filled the room. Her zest for life was only matched by the size of her heart. She would help anyone at anytime and always was doing little things to brighten the day of those around her. Becky appreciated the simple things in life like the sounds of nature, long walks, swimming in the pool, or ice cream on a hot day. She balanced this with a desire for perfect hair and nails and had to be fashionably dressed no matter what the occasion. She loved to shop the resale stores, listen to Johnny Cash, take photos, bake, hang with her friends, and anything to do with Marilyn Monroe. Survived by her parents, David Sova and Sandra (Michael) Kovalcik; sister, Kristyn Sova; brother, Matthew Sova; stepbrother, Joseph Kovalcik; grandmothers, Mary "Toots" Sova and Justine "Jean" Carra; aunts, Cindy Chambers, Lynn Carra, Amy Negus, Karen (Tom) Tomac, and Judy (Mark) Merzlock; cousins, Louis and Lucas Negus and Michael Tomac. Preceded in death by grandfathers, Walter Sova and Raymond Carra; brother, Raymond Joseph Sova; and uncle, Matt Chambers. Becky was a ray of light. Everywhere she went, if you met her, you would never forget her. She was full of life and would do anything for anyone, and if anyone would ask, her famous responses would be, "I can do it", "I got it", "I'll take care of it." Funeral Services for Becky will be Tuesday, July 9, 2013 at 9:15 a.m. from the Fred C.
