Geneva A. Giorgis-Sharp "Jeanny" (nee Jennings) Age 90. Passed away Wednesday, July 3, 2013 at Fairview Care Center. Born in Litchfield, IL and a lifelong Joliet area resident. Past employed at the Joliet Arsenal Ammunition Plant, a retired medical assistant of Dr. James Rogers after 20 years of service, past President of the Ladies Auxiliary of VFW #2199 Stone City Post. An active member of Joliet Easter Seals and a volunteer at Sunny Hill Nursing Home for many years. Survived by three daughters, Cookie Ostrem, Janina "Nina" Kirincich and Cindy (George) Kontos; eight grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; son-in-law, Chuck Stebbins; sister-in-law, Rose Jennings; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins also survive. Preceded by her parents, Mike and Clara Hornichak; one daughter, Chyrll Stebbins; one brother, Lloyd Jennings. The family would like to thank the nurses and CNA's at Fairview Care Center who were there for our mother and family during her lengthy stay and a special thank you to Passages Hospice for their devoted care to our mother. A Prayer Service for Geneva "Jeanny" A. Giorgis-Sharp will be held on Saturday, July 6, 2013 at 6:00 p.m. at the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home, 3200 Black at Essington Rds., Joliet. Memorials in her name to Passages Hospice would be appreciated. Visitation Saturday 3-7 p.m. As it was Jeanny's wish, Cremation Rites will follow.
