Age 88. Passed away peacefully Tuesday, July 9, 2013 at home.
Beloved wife of Watson A. Healy; loving mother of David (Carolyn) Healy, Rebecca (Frank) Petrek, James (Madonna) Healy, Gary (Nancy) Healy and Robert (Moira) Healy; devoted grandmother of Ben and Katy Healy, Jason (Jessica) and Stacey Petrek, Michael, Kevin, Claire and Daniel Healy, Cassidy and Brian Healy and Meaghan (Mike) Cisneros, Betsy, Maureen, Ryan and Robert Healy; great-grandmother of Cole Petrek, Gianna and Ellie Cisneros; beloved sister of Ardelle (Ruder) Norgaard; beloved aunt of many nieces and nephews.
Preceded in death by her parents, Francis and Agnes (Fritz) Ruder.
Celeste was born on the family farm in Herscher, IL and graduated from Herscher High School, where she met the love of her life, Watson Healy. The two married on August 24, 1946. In 1954 they moved to Joliet, where they spent the rest of their lives together. Celeste was active in the Visitation and Aid Society, the Childerguild, the St. Raymond School Board, the Council of Catholic Women, Women of Rotary, Women's Architectural League Foundation and the Joliet Country Club where she was active in the bridge club, golf and the bowling league. Her other interests included art, travel, and gardening, but her true passion was spending time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Funeral Services for Celeste F. Healy will be held on Friday, July 12, 2013 at 9:15 a.m. from the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home, 3200 Black at Essington Rd., Joliet to the Cathedral of St. Raymond Nonnatus for Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Interment St. Peter & Paul Cemetery in Herscher, IL. In lieu of flowers, memorials in her name can be made to International Waldenstrom's Macroglobulinemia Foundation (www.IWMF.com) or the Cathedral of St. Raymond Nonnatus Parish, 604 N.
