Raymond R. Sullivan
"Sully"
Age 78, of Joliet, passed away Tuesday, July 9, 2013 at Presence Saint Joseph Medical Center with his family by his side.
His heart and soul belonged to Lewis University where he worked as an electrician for over 30 years, retiring at age 66. He was a veteran of the United States Army and a member of the Knights of Columbus.
Ray enjoyed spending time with his family and helping friends and neighbors. He was an avid outdoorsman, loved to camp and belonged to several camping clubs and organizations. He also enjoyed fishing, playing horseshoes and bowling.
Surviving are his three sons, Patrick Sullivan of Joliet, Francis (Andrea) Sullivan of Shorewood, and Paul (Julie) Sullivan of Chicago; three grandsons, Samuel, Colton and Maxwell; one brother, William (JoAnn) Sullivan of Shorewood; his nieces and nephews, Billy (Trish) Sullivan, Mike (Debbie) Sullivan, Peggy (Mark) Christensen and Karen (Matt) Lawrence; and his faithful companion, Boots.
Preceded by his beloved wife, Sylvia T. (nee Benco) Sullivan (May 14, 2009); his son, Shaun (January 15, 1984); and his parents, Raymond Patrick and Mary Veronica (nee Steffes) Sullivan.
Funeral services for Raymond R. Sullivan will be Monday, July 15, 2013 at 9:15 a.m. from the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home, 3200 Black at Essington Rd., Joliet to the Cathedral of St. Raymond Nonnatus for Mass at 10:00 a.m. Interment Resurrection Cemetery.
