Douglas "Joey" Koren
Age 30, of Diamond, passed away, tragically, Friday, July 12, 2013. Owner and operator of Nick's Construction and member of Local No. 75. A graduate of Joliet Catholic Academy, Class of '01 and a member of the Plainfield Moose Lodge.
He is survived by his loving wife, Nikki (nee Carroll) Koren; his three sons, Nicholas, Nolan and Joey; his parents, Ronald and Carolyn Koren; brother, Sean (Jill) Koren; his wife's parents, Pam (Bruce) Vrbenec and Randy Carroll; her grandparents, Jack and Gail Korelc; sister-in-law, Stephanie (Michael) Gleissner; brother-in-law, Matt Vrbenec; goddaughter, Kaylee Midleck; goddaughter and niece, Amelia Koren; nieces, Silvia and Liddia Koren, and Keiragen Gleissner; and nephews, Xander and Asher Gleissner; and many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends, especially his good friend, Brad Hudetz.
Preceded by grandparents, Ronald and Mary Joan Koren, and Russell and June Dennis.
All friends and relatives are invited to gather for visitation between 4-8 p.m. on Tuesday, July 16, 2013 at the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home, 3200 Black Rd., Joliet. As it was his wish, cremation rites will be accorded following visitation and private family services will be held at a later time.
