Obituary of Doris Smith

Doris E. Smith (nee Wren) Age 65. Passed away unexpectedly, Tuesday, July 23, 2013 at her residence in Joliet. Born March 13, 1948 in Booneville, MS to the late Lillian (nee Walker) and JC Wren, she had resided in the Joliet area most of her life. A graduate with the Class of 1966 from Joliet East High School. Beloved sister of Rita (nee Wren) and Bill Martin, Lonnie (Sue Ann) Wren and Marie (nee Wren) Howland; dearest aunt of Jason Howland and Eric (Sue) Howland; great-aunt of Cameron, Evan and Lillian Howland. Also survived by her best friends, Mary (Jim) Moore and Maureen (late John) Berdis, as well as her aunt and numerous cousins. Preceded in death by her parents and a brother in infancy, Larry Joe Wren. Doris retired as Branch Service Manager from BMO Harris Bank (Essington Rd. branch) after 38 years of service. She enjoyed bunco, reading poolside, her friendships and being around her family. Doris was a very special aunt and great aunt. Funeral Services for Doris E. Smith will be held Friday, July 26, 2013, 9:30 a.m. at the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home, 3200 Black Rd., Joliet. Interment Woodlawn Memorial Park.
