Karen A. Johnson
(nee Deufel)
Age 51, of Joliet, passed away Wednesday, July 24, 2013 at Joliet Area Community Hospice Home with her family by her side following a courageous battle with cancer.
Born March 15, 1962 in Joliet, she was a graduate of Romeoville Grade School and Plainfield Township Central High School. Karen worked as a customer service representative for many years, most recently for WalcoTool and Engineering, Lockport, and Sammons Preston Roylan in Bolingbrook. She enjoyed music and loved animals, especially dogs and eagles.
Surviving are her devoted father, William P. Deufel of Joliet; two brothers, Kevin (Cathy) Deufel of Crest Hill, and Kerry (Dawn) Deufel of Plainfield; three nephews, Matthew (Kimberly), Daniel and Andrew Deufel; one niece, Beth Deufel; and her aunts and uncles, Linda Peterson, Mary and Harold Dolgner, Thomas Deufel and Keith and Becky Deufel.
She was preceded by her beloved mother, JoAnn (nee Figiel) Deufel (May 10, 2013).

Funeral services for Karen A. Deufel Johnson will be Friday, July 26, 2013 at 7:00 p.m. at the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home, 3200 Black at Essington Rds., Joliet. Private interment will be in Resurrection Cemetery. Memorials in her name to the wishes of the family would be appreciated.
