Obituary of Jerry Haines

Jerry O. Haines Age 79, of Joliet, passed away peacefully Wednesday, July 31, 2013 at Presence St. Joseph Medical Center. Born February 3, 1934, he was the son of Harold Omar and Mavis Haines. Jerry was a lifelong resident of Joliet. He attended Cunningham and Farrugut Schools, as well as Joliet Township High School. Former employee of the Joliet Herald News and the Joliet Public Library. Jerry was an avid reader and was well versed on many subjects, especially the Civil War. His main hobby was photography, recording the many changes in Joliet and surrounding area. Throughout the years, he also collected Maritimes (ships), postcards, plates of ships and miniature ships. A Committal Service for Jerry O. Haines will be held Monday, August 5, 2013 at 1:00 p.m. at Woodlawn Memorial Park Cemetery chapel, 23060 W. Jefferson, Joliet, IL. There will be no visitation.
