Glenn G. Fatlan
Age 92, of Minooka, passed away peacefully Thursday, August 8, 2013 at home with his family by his side .
He was born March 24, 1921 in Lisbon, IL to the late Selma (Hauge) and Gilbert Fatlan, he attended grade school in Lisbon and graduated with the class of 1939 from Yorkville High School.
He was the beloved husband of 67 years to Selma (nee Alsvig) Fatlan; loving father of Dale Fatlan of Minooka, Ken Fatlan of Minooka, Vern (Marcia) Fatlan of Morris and Sharon (the late David) Allen of Minooka; dear grandfather of Troy (Melissa) Fatlan, Tonya (Chris) Sandvick, Travis Fatlan;Tim, Michael and Nicholas Allen; proud great grandfather of Austin, Alison, Alexis and Alea Fatlan; Teagan Sandvick; Madison, Olivia and Jaxon Allen; Matthew and Angela Allen. Dearest great-great grandpa of Mason Allen. Also survived by his sister LaVonne Fatlan Hansen of Gardner, IL.
Preceded in death by his parents and son-in-law.
Glenn was a U.S. Army veteran who served during WWII; He retired from Caterpillar Inc. in 1982 after 30 years of service. He was previously employed by Blockson Chemical, and in his younger years, assisted his father with farming in the Shorewood and Minooka area. He enjoyed yardwork and was a charter member of the Minooka Bible Church, being involved with the planning and building of the church.
Funeral services for Glenn G. Fatlan will be Monday, August 12, 2013, 10:00 a.m. at Minooka Bible Church 412 N. Wabena Avenue, where he will lie in state from 9:30 a.m. until the services begin. Pastor David Jankowski officiating. Interment at Evergreen Cemetery, Morris. In lieu of flowers, memorials in his name to the Minooka Bible Church would be appreciated.
