Obituary of Susan Chaloka

Susan M. Chaloka Age 89. Passed away Thursday, August 29, 2013 following a lengthy illness that she courageously fought, always with the constant and loving support of her family. Born June 9, 1924 to the late Massimo and Mary (Caruso) Colonna, she was a lifelong resident of Crest Hill. Longtime parishioner of St. Anne Catholic Church in Crest Hill. A member of the Senior Citizen's Association and the Rivals Club. Former member of the St. Anne C.C.W. and the Moose Lodge. An avid bowler and golfer. Susan is survived by her son, Joe Chaloka; brother, Bill (Lorraine) Colonna; her beloved nieces and nephews, William Colonna, Sheryl Long, David Colonna, Laura Mitok and Richard Stukel; numerous great-nieces and great-nephews; her special cousin, Eleanor Forte of Boston, MA; and many good friends who helped her enjoy her life to the fullest. Preceded by her husband, Joe Chaloka; her parents; and sisters, Edna Stukel and Muffy Tomac. Funeral Services for Susan M. Chaloka will be Monday, September 2, 2013 at St. Anne Catholic Church, Crest Hill where she will Lie in State from 10:00 a.m. until time of her Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. Private family interment at Woodlawn Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that everyone who knew Susan perform an act of kindness for someone. Donations may also be made to Joliet Area Community Hospice.
