Obituary of Thomas Mowatt

Thomas J. Mowatt, Jr. "Jimmy" Age 45, of Plainfield and formerly Chicago, passed away suddenly Saturday, August 31, 2013 at home. He was born April 26, 1968 to the late Carol and Thomas J. Mowatt, Sr. in Chicago where he was raised and educated. Survived by his loving wife Karen (nee Matthis); beloved son, Thomas James Mowatt III; stepchildren, Jessica, Christina, Haley and Leo; proud grandpa of Xavier, Gracie and Isabel; fond brother of Rick, Donnie and Ronnie Geise; and uncle of several nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by his beloved mother, Carol (nee Spinney) Mowatt. Jimmy attended Lincoln Tech and owned and operated a heating and air conditioning service until he was hired by Metra nine years ago. He truly enjoyed his job and friends there and was a carman until recently being promoted to lead painter. Funeral Services for Thomas J. Mowatt, Jr. will be held Saturday, September 7, 2013 at 5:00 p.m. at the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home, 3200 Black at Essington Rds., Joliet, with Pastor Jane Perkolup officiating. As it was Jimmy's wish, Cremation Rites will be accorded after services. In lieu of flowers, memorials to the education fund for his son, Thomas III, would be appreciated.
