Bullard, Fern W.
(nee Wood)
Age 94, of Joliet, passed away peacefully on Monday, August 13, 2012 at Rosewood Care Center. Born August 22, 1917 in Keenes, IL, she was a resident of Joliet since 1955. Fern enjoyed working at Joshua Arms, the former Salem Towers, as a Clerk of the Country Store, where she had many friends. She volunteered for Friends of Salem Village Resale Shop, modeling in their annual style show. She was also an excellent seamstress, homemaker and gardener.
She was a good and loving mother who took care of others first, and was also a devoted grandmother who was very close to her grandchildren. She loved baby-sitting, and visiting friends and family here and in Keenes.
Survived by one daughter, Mary Lou (William R.) Bucciarelli of Channahon; one son, Marty (Sharilyn J.) Bullard of Jefferson City, MO; eight grandchildren, William (Joyce) Bucciarelli, Robert A. (Tracey ) Bucciarelli, Brian L. (Janet) Bucciarelli, Brad L. (Christine) Bucciarelli, Kelly J. (Andy) Groff, Christine L. (Ray) Kaisher, Dustin R. Bullard and Eric J. (Beth) Bullard; 20 great-grandchildren eight great-great-grandchildren; two sisters-in-law, Marlene Wood and Vernell (Wood) Conley; and many nieces and nephews.
Preceded in death by her husband, Lester D. Bullard (1990); her parents, Ross O. and Golda Wood; and two brothers, Fay C. (Evelyn) and Blythe A. (Enid) Wood.

Funeral Services for Fern W. Bullard will be Thursday, August 16, 2012 at 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Cremation rites will be accorded following services and burial will be in Thompson Cemetery, Wayne City, IL. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Vitas Hospice.
