Barbara M. Weis
(nee Zimmerman)
Age 80. Passed away peacefully Saturday, September 7, 2013 at Genesis East Hospital in Davenport, IA. Born and raised in Joliet, IL and a Plainfield resident for the past 40 years, before retiring to Park Vista in East Moline, IL just a few weeks ago. Formerly employed by Illinois Bell telephone as an operator and the Louis Joliet Mall as a secretary for many years.
Barbara loved spending time with her grandchildren and family. She also loved dancing with her late husband, listening to music, playing cards with her friends, knitting, crocheting and putting together puzzles. She was a kind-hearted person who often put others needs before her own. She will be forever missed and is always in our hearts.
Barbara was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond K. Weis (1986); her parents, Thomas J. and Elizabeth C. (nee Klein) Zimmerman; a niece Mary Beth (James) Guest.
Survived by a son, Mark (Kristina) Weis of Bettendorf, IA; and a daughter, Erica (Chris) Painter of Atlanta, GA; four grandchildren, Miranda and Samantha Weis and Reese and Reagan Painter; a sister, Mary DelRose; a niece, Vickie (Steve) Kula; and great-nephew, Nicholas Kula; a great-niece, Elizabeth Riviera; and great-great-niece and nephew, Caitlin and James Riviera.
Funeral Services for Barbara M. Weis will be held Wednesday, September 11, 2013 at 9:30 a.m. from the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home, 3200 Black at Essington Rds., Joliet to St. Mary Immaculate Catholic Church in Plainfield for a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Interment Mt.
