Obituary of Fred Landerman

Fred E. Landerman "Uncle Ferd" Age 65, passed away at his home on September 9, 2013 after a long, hard battle with many medical challenges, most of which he overcame with a smile. He was born October 11, 1947 to the late Jeanette (Robertson) and Robert Landerman in Marysville, CA where he was raised and educated, graduating from Yuba Community College. Beloved husband of nearly 43 years to Susan (nee Pubentz); loving father of Elizabeth (Gary) Dohrer, Joseph (Nikkie) Landerman, Michele (Bobby) Stagner and Julie (James) Larson; proud grandpa of Madeline, Katherine and Emily; Dylan, Josephine and Rikki; Arlena, Emily, Alexis and Dylan; Malorie, Brandon, Adam and Jordan; great-grandpa of Aiden and Zachary; and Hannah; brother of Norman (Mary), Robert (Bonnie), Richard (Janet), James (Susan), Paul, Joseph (Elizabeth) and Elvan (Norma) Landerman; many nieces, nephews, cousins as well as special friends, Tom Orlando and brother-in-law, Bill Ongenae also survive. Preceded in death by his parents. Fred served in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War on the U.S.S. Topeka. He was a construction manager and estimator, having worked for Del-Jen, Inc. for many years. He was a gun enthusiast, who loved hunting and later in life became an author having two books published. Fred's family expresses a special thanks to Dr. Mohin Samawareera and staff, Presence Saint Joseph ER staff and especially, Dr. Edwin Veguilla for many years of care for Fred. A Prayer Service will be held on Saturday, September 14, 2013 at 6:00 p.m. at the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home, 3200 Black at Essington Rd., Joliet. Interment will take place at a later date at Plainfield Township Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials in his name can be made to the Law Enforcement Torch Run for Special Olympics, 605 E.
