Obituary of Albert Liptak
Albert J. Liptak
Age 91, of Joliet, passed away peacefully, Friday, September 20, 2013 at the Joliet Area Community Hospice Home.
Born in Streator, IL to the late John and Agnes (Fialko) Liptak, he was a longtime Joliet resident. He served in the U.S. Army Corp. of Engineers in the Battle of the Bulge during WWII.
Beloved husband of 67 years to Mary (Gura) Liptak and loving father of Neil Liptak, Carol (Dr. John) Ness and Alice (Dr. Michael) Karlstad; dearest grandfather of five and proud great-grandpa of one. Also surviving are one brother, Jack Liptak; three sisters, Betty Harden, Marilyn Dickey, Deanna Beatz; and several nieces and nephews.
Preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Edward Liptak.
Al retired from Commonwealth Edison after 44 years of dedicated service. He will be remembered for his quick wit, warm personality and positive outlook on life, as it was said he was a "half-full glass" kind of guy. He enjoyed nature, hunting and spending time with his family.
Funeral Services for Albert J. Liptak will be Tuesday, September 24, 2013 at 9:15 a.m. from the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home, 3200 Black at Essington Rd., Joliet to St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Interment Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials in his name to your favorite charity would be appreciated. Visitation Tuesday morning at the funeral home from 8:30 a.m. until time of service.
