Cari Archibald-Beck posted a condolence
Thursday, September 26, 2013
Nancy Lee Archibald was born in Joliet Illinois. She attended Joliet Central High School and was a cheerleader. She raised 4 children, Jana, Cari, Robert, and Michael. She loved to water ski and her garden. My favorite memories of my mom were when we would go shopping and turn to the other and say "hey, look at this" We would be holding the same thing in our hands. I don't think I ever saw my mother happier than in 1977 when we finished building our house in Elwood. All of us had worked on it all summer as it was owner completion. She had the home she always wanted and she was beaming with pride.
My mother worked at several places in Joliet, Honiotes Bros. Grocery, PK Lord, Alexander Lumber, and For the Good of It. She was a majority member of Bethel 48, Joliet chapter of Job's Daughters.
My mom loved animals and could get a squirrel to eat right from her hand. I never knew how she did that.
My mom had a hard life at times, loosing Michael was something she never recovered from.
Thank you to everyone who loved my Mom

Sorry I wasn't at your service Mom, but the rest of the family didn't want me there. It's ok, you are in my heart and that is something no one can ever take from me.

Aunt Nannies, you were the funnest of aunts..from the time I was a little boy, you took care of me, riding around in the black fury to the time you tried to stick my go-cart in the back of the chevette (sorry 'bout that tail pipe burn), the water skiing trips to shelbyville..and so many other fun trips and good times...from my youth until now you were always caring to me and most of the time when I needed it the most! No nephew could possibly ever forget you, their favorite aunt! ...And the lives you touched will never forget you...you were one of a kind aunt Nancy and everyone loved you for it!! I will miss you, think about you often and love you always!! - David
