Charles W. Delaney
Age 95. At rest on Wednesday, October 9, 2013 at his home surrounded by his loving family. Born on October 23, 1917 in Coalgate, OK to the late Charles and Lucille Delaney and came to Joliet in 1925. Charles was a barber for many years and former owner of Chuck's Barber Shop. Proudly served his country during WWII as an Army Private and retired after 12 years in the maintenance department with School District #86.
Survived by his loving wife of 75 years, Mary "Mae" Delaney; two daughters, Marlene Cormier and Terri Tobin; five granddaughters, Karen McKittrick, Sharon (Steve) Potter, Carrie Gunning, Becky (Gary) Dolnak and Allison Tobin; great-grandfather of 10; great-great-grandfather of 7; and niece, Judy Andrews.
Preceded in death by his parents; son-in-law, Albert Cormier; grandson-in-law, Mickey McKittrick; and sister, Mary Kay Gregorec.

Memorial Services for Charles W. Delaney will be Tuesday, October 15, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home, 3200 Black at Essington Rds., Joliet. As it was Charles' request, Cremation Rites have been accorded. Interment Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery with full military honors. In lieu of flowers, memorials in his name to Vitas Hospice would be appreciated.
