Obituary of Patricia David

Sister Patricia David, OSF (Sister M. Francis De Sales) Sister Patricia David, OSF (1917 - 2013) died at Our Lady of Angels Retirement Home, Joliet, Illinois, on October 21, 2013. She was born in Toledo, Ohio, to the late Anna (Liszak) and Frank David. She has one brother, Frank (Vicki) David of Crescent Spring, Kentucky. Sister Patricia was a treasured member of the Sisters of St. Francis of Mary Immaculate (Joliet) for 58 years. Before entering religious life, Sister Patricia was a member of St. Stephen Parish in Toledo, Ohio. She attended St. Francis de Sales Grade School in Toledo and St. Francis Academy (Joliet Catholic Academy). She earned her Bachelor Arts degree from the College of St. Francis (University of St. Francis) Joliet, Illinois and a Master of Education from DePaul University, Chicago, Illinois. Sister Patricia began her ministry in the field of education in 1957 teaching Grade 2 at St. Bernard School in Joliet, Illinois. She taught Grade 2 at St. Raymond School and taught Grades 3, 4 and 5 at St. Jude School. She also taught in Pompano Beach, Florida, Chicago, Illinois and Mansfield, Ohio. In 1988 she moved to Toledo, Ohio where she cared for her parents and served as a clinical therapist and pastoral care minister. She returned to Joliet in 2000 to minister to her sisters at St. Francis Convent, and in 2003 she moved to Our Lady of Angels Retirement Home where she continued serving her community. The wake for Sister Patricia will be at Our Lady of Angels Retirement Home, 1201 Wyoming Avenue, Joliet, IL (Wyoming and Rt. 30) on Friday, October 25, 2013, from 2:00 - 6:45 p.m., with a Prayer Service at 4:45 p.m. and Mass of Christian Burial at 7:00 p.m. The Funeral Procession will leave from Our Lady of Angels on Saturday morning, October 26, 2013, at 9:00 a.m. The Interment will take place at Resurrection Cemetery in Romeoville, Illinois.
