Obituary of Aristea Kareotes

Aristea Kareotes (nee Vezerakis) Passed away peacefully in her sleep at home on Tuesday, October 22, 2013. Born in Kolimbari Crete, Greece to the late Stavros and Antonia (Tsingakis) Vezerakis. An accomplished seamstress/tailor for over 60 years. Member of All Saints Greek Orthodox Church and Philoptochos Society. An avid cook and gardener. Surviving are her four children, Nicki Babaniotis of Shorewood, John Kareotes of Chicago, Tony (Maria) Kareotes of Chicago and Tula Kareotes of Joliet; five granddaughters, Nina (Bryan) Bourret, Konstantina, Georgia, Aristea and Athena Kareotes; one great-grandson, Jaylen Christopher Bourret; five sisters, Stavroula (Peter) Sperelakis of Shorewood, Marika, Demetra, Chrisoula and Argiro; one brother, Yianni all of Greece; and numerous nieces and nephews. Preceded by her husband, Gust Kareotes; and one sister, Eleni. The family would like to extend their sincere gratitude to mom's caregivers, Amy, Beatrice, Lacy, and the Sutton Family. Funeral Services for Aristea Kareotes will be Friday, October 25, 2013 at 8:45 a.m. from the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home, 3200 Black at Essington Rds., Joliet to All Saints Greek Orthodox Church for services at 9:30 a.m. Interment Woodlawn Memorial Park. Memorials in her name to All Saints Greek Orthodox Church would be appreciated.
