Obituary of William Mulcahy

William T. Mulcahy "Bill" Age 78. A lifelong Joliet resident, passed away Sunday, November 10, 2013 at his late residence. Born December 23, 1934 in Joliet to the late Evelyn (nee Mahoney) and Bernard C. Mulcahy. He graduated in 1948 from St. Patrick Grade School, and graduated with the Class of 1952 at Joliet Catholic High School. He retired from Olin (Blockson) Chemical after 38 years of service. Previously employed by the Armour Meat Packing Company and also Laborers Union Local 75 and Teamsters Union Local #179. Survived by two daughters, Peggy Jo (Ross) Eckert and Sharon (Ray) Salzman; six grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews also survive. Preceded in death by three sons, David, William "Billy" and Sean who all died from cystic fibrosis; two brothers, Bernie (Gisele) and Bob (Pat) Mulcahy. Bill was known for his wit and gift of gab. He appreciated the friendships he shared over the years. Funeral Services for Bill Mulcahy will be held on Friday, November 15, 2013 at 9:15 a.m. from the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home, 3200 Black Road, Joliet to St. Patrick Catholic Church where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Interment Resurrection Cemetery.
