George J. Elias
Age 92. Passed away peacefully Wednesday, November 13, 2013 at Senior Star in Romeoville. Born on February 14, 1921 in Joliet and a lifetime area resident and founding lifelong member of St. Mary Magdalene Catholic Church. An avid golfer and bowler.
Survived by his son, Ronald (Patricia) Elias of Joliet; daughter, Felicia Elias (Mark Secor) of Woodridge; six grandchildren, Terra, Deann, Bradley, Jillian, Nathan and Kira; eight great-grandchildren, Hayley, Anthony, Austin, Brock, Payton, Ryder, Brennen and Mason; three sisters, Marie Whitmer, Bernice (Joseph) Forzley and Evelyn (Albert) Kattany; sisters-in-law, Alice Elias and Jeanne Ciancanelli; and numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and cousins also survive.
Preceded in death by his wife, Eleanor Estelle (nee Ciancanelli) (2013); parents, Essa Joseph and Asma (Kattouf) Elias; brothers, Fred and Edmund Elias; brothers-in-law, Richard Whitmer, Frank Ciancanelli and Joseph Ciancanelli; and sisters-in-law, Delores Elias and Helen Ciancanelli.

Funeral Services for George J. Elias will be Saturday, November 16, 2013 at 9:45 a.m. from the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home, 3200 Black at Essington Rds., Joliet to St. Mary Magdalene Catholic Church for a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. As it was George's request, Cremation Rites will follow. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorials and donations to Senior Star Assisted Living, 605 S. Edward Drive, Romeoville, IL 60446 or Joliet Area Community Hospice would be appreciated.
