Obituary of Salvatore Procopio

Procopio, Salvatore "Saverio" Age 76, of Plainfield since 2006 and formerly Stickney, passed away November 20, 2013. He was born January 2, 1937 in Gasperina, Italy to the late Caterina (Masciari) and Gregorio Procopio. "Sal" emigrated to the U.S. in August of 1972, settling in Chicago for 27 years, prior to moving to Stickney. Beloved husband of Rosina (Celia); loving father of Greg (Aida) Procopio of Lombard and Caterina "Rina" (Domenic) Messina of Plainfield; proud grandfather of Nicole, Karina, Salvatore and Raquel Procopio and Isabella, Bianca and Francesco Messina. "Sam" as he was also known, was a member of the Italian Calvary and a retired hard working laborer having served Montgomery Ward Co., Hart, Schafner and Marx Clothiers and Ferrara Pan Candy Co. Funeral Services for Salvatore S. Procopio will be held Saturday November 23, 2013 at 9:00 a.m. from the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home, 3200 Black at Essington Rds., Joliet to Holy Family Catholic Church in Shorewood where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Interment Mt. Carmel Cemetery, Hillside. In lieu of flowers, memorials in his name to the American Heart Association or American Diabetes Association would be appreciated.
