Obituary of Phyllis Lowrey

Phyllis Lowrey (nee Robinson) Age 81, of Morris, passed away peacefully, Thursday evening, November 21, 2013 at her daughter's home, surrounded by family. Born May 15, 1932 to the late Cyrus and Mary (nee Ethington) Robinson in Southern Illinois, she was a long time area resident. She enjoyed spending time with her family and grandchildren, visiting the Riverboat Casino and traveling, having been through every state in our nation. Phyllis retired from Caterpillar Tractor Inc. after 30 years of dedicated service. Beloved mother of Marsha (Bill) Norris of Morris and Steve (Dee) Spangler of Vero Beach, FL; loving and fun grandmother of Michael (Stephanie) Norris, Jamie Norris (Mandy); Stacey (Bill) Mitchell, Michael (Christine) Spangler, Jerry Smith and Bobby (Lupita) Smith; proud great-grandmother of several great-grandchildren' dear sister of Carolyn "Sue" (late Chuck) Belt and Ray (Faye) Robinson. Several nieces and nephews also survive. Preceded in death by her son, Michael Spangler, her parents; husband, Calvin R. Lowrey, daughter-in-law, Sue Spangler, sisters, Katherine Leslie and Betty Harvey and her former husband, Eugene Spangler. As it was Phyllis' final wish, Cremation Rites will be accorded and private family services will be held. In lieu of flowers, memorials in her name to the American Kidney Association or Joliet Area Community Hospice would be appreciated.
