Ann J. Busch
"Annie"
Age 87. Peacefully, Friday, September 18, 2009 at her residence with her husband by her side following a courageous battle with leukemia. Born in Joliet and a lifelong Joliet area resident. A graduate of Joliet Township High School Class of 1940. Retired in 1983 as a secretary for the United Steel Workers of America District #31 after over 23 years of service. A member of All Saints Greek Orthodox Church and the Philoptochos Society. Ann loved to travel, the Cubs, her bird Chrissy, and most of all, her family.
Preceded by her parents, James and Katherine (nee Skiniotes) Ploum; one brother, Steven (Lil) Ploum; two sisters, Mary (Peter) Nazos and Francine (Stanley) Allen; and great grandchild Ethan Kinley.
Survived by her childhood sweetheart and loving husband of 67 years, whom she married August 16, 1942, William A. Busch, Sr. of Joliet; one son, William A. (Janet) Busch, Jr. of Joliet; one daughter, Catherine (Jerry) Jones of DeBary, Florida; seven grandchildren, William (Gidget) Kinley, Joseph (Kimberly) Kinley, Jim (Shelley) Jones, Jeff Jones, Karalee (Dave) Baudo, Joshua (Elizabeth) Busch and Jeremiah Busch; six great grandchildren, Emily, J.L., Faith, Matthew, Caleb and Samantha; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins also survive.
Funeral services for Ann J. Busch will be Tuesday, September 22, 2009 at 9:00 a.m. from the funeral home chapel to All Saints Greek Orthodox Church for services at 9:30 a.m. Interment Woodlawn Memorial Park Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials to the Joliet Area Community Hospice or All Saints Greek Orthodox Church in her name would be appreciated. Visitation Monday 5-8 p.m. with Trisagion prayer services at 6:30 p.m. at:
