Obituary of Jean Korczak

Jean M. Korczak (nee Haake) Age 74, of Joliet, passed away Friday, December 13, 2013 at home with her family by her side. Born October 21, 1939 in Joliet, she was the daughter of the late William and Stella (nee Bednarczyk) Haake. She was a graduate of St. Francis Academy and Joliet Central Vocational. Jean was a member of St. Mary Immaculate Catholic Church and the CCW and Seniors Group. She was also a member of the Suburbanettes Homemakers Club, and previously was a 4-H and Girl Scout Leader. She also volunteered at St. Mary Immaculate School. Jean retired in 2001 from Our Lady of Angels Retirement Home where she worked as a a nurse for 15 years.. She will be remembered as a loving wife, mother and grandmother. Surviving are her beloved husband of 52 years, Ronald J. Korczak; three daughters, Debra (Steven) Zelinski of Joliet, Mary (Shane) DeBerry of Morris and Carrie (John) Cline of Joliet; her grandchildren, Nicholas and Stephanie Zelinski, Jakob and Ryan DeBerry and Paige and Blake Cline; and her step-mother, Wanda Haake of Plainfield. Funeral Services for Jean M. Korczak will be held on Wednesday, December 18, 2013 at 9:30 a.m. from the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home, 3200 Black at Essington Rds., Joliet to St. Mary Immaculate Catholic Church for Mass at 10:30 a.m. Interment Resurrection Cemetery.
