Norma "Jean" Talarico
(nee Panian)
Age 83. Passed away Monday, December 16, 2013 at Brookdale Sweetlife in Overland Park, KS. Born in Joliet in 1930, she resided there until 1970, then Washington, IL for 25 years, to 2005, then back to Joliet until her move to Kansas City to be near her youngest son in 2010. Jean, a registered nurse for many years, retired from Neurological Associates of Peoria. While raising three boys and working full time, Jean attended nursing school achieving no less than straight A's. When her boys were young, she was active in Scouts and was President of the Troy Grade School PTA. She and her husband enjoyed camping and spent many happy times with their family and friends at sites across the country. Later Jean was a volunteer at the Free Medical Clinic in Peoria, a member of the Easter Seals, Holly Club, the CCW of St. Mary Immaculate Catholic Church and Red Hatters. Most of all, she was a loving mother and devoted wife.
Preceded in death by her parents, August "Gus" and Helen (nee Zekas) Panian; and her brother, John Panian.
Survived by her loving husband of 62 years, Frank B. Talarico; three sons, Gary Talarico, Mark Talarico, and Chris Talarico; two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Funeral Services for Jean Talarico will be Friday, December 20, 2013 at 11:30 a.m. at the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home, 3200 Black at Essington Rds., Joliet. Interment Resurrection Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials in her name to the Catholic Community Hospice of Kansas City, KS would be appreciated. Visitation FRIDAY MORNING 9:30 a.m. until time of services at the funeral home.
