Obituary of Nancy Palmer

Nancy L. Palmer (nee Fox) Age 79. Formerly of Elwood and Plainfield, passed away Thursday, January 16, 2014 at Meadowbrook Manor, Bolingbrook. Born September 19, 1934 in Joliet, she was the daughter of Frederick and Fern (nee Donisch) Fox, and was a 1952 graduate of Joliet Township High School. She was a member of Plainfield United Methodist Church and a former member of Richard Street Methodist Church of Joliet. Nancy was a devoted mother, grandmother and great-grandmother and will be remembered as a wonderful homemaker who loved to bake and garden. Surviving are her five children, Ken (Kristine) Vallrugo of Sarasota, FL, Cheryl (Bill) Reichert of Minooka, Mark "Luke" (Maribeth) Palmer of Plainfield, Gwen (Brad) Ullrich of Phoenix, AZ and Dawn (Jay) Johnson of Carefree, AZ; 12 grandchildren, Christiee, Chase, Stephanie, Dane and Ashley Vallrugo, Kylie Underhill, Corey Schoenwald, Breanne Reichert, Marissa and Zack Palmer, Isabella Ullrich and Max Johnson; two great-grandchildren, Zoey Underhill Weber and Ryder Schoenwald; one brother, Robert (Dee) Fox of Bull Shoals, AR; two sisters, Fern (George) Angelos of Plainfield and JoAnn (Rolla) Moore of New Lenox; and many nieces and nephews. Preceded by parents; and one sister, Edith Rogers. A Memorial Service for Nancy L. Palmer will be held on Thursday, January 23, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. at Plainfield United Methodist Church, 15114 S. Illinois St., Plainfield, IL, where visitation will be held from 1:00 p.m. until time of services. The Rev. Dr. Eun-Hye Choi will officiate.
