Obituary of Maynard Butts

Maynard D. Butts "Pete" Age 78. Tuesday, July 22, 2008 at Provena Saint Joseph Medical Center, following a brief illness. Born October 30, 1929 in Litchfield, IL, he moved to Joliet with his family. A graduate of Joliet Township High School Class of 1947. Pete retired as a lab technician at Olin Chemicals following 42 years of service. He enjoyed hunting and fishing throughout his life. Survived by his children, Steven (late Alice') Butts, Diane (David) Merriman, Lawrence (Barbara) Butts, Thomas (Ilene) Butts, David (Diane) Hibler, and Linda (Gary) Heap; grandchildren, Brandy (Mark) Strohm, Matthew and Nicholas (Karen) Butts; Jennifer and Jason Merriman; Kevin and Stacy Heap; Daniel, Andrew, and Allison Butts; Jennifer (Christopher) Gulledge and Stephen Cox; great-grandchildren, Ryan and Anna-Lise Strohm; Kaylee Palonis; Cory and Jayden Gulledge; one sister, Ima Jean Sayers; and numerous nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by his first wife, Marilyn (Chesko); his second wife, Margaret (Sandretto-Hibler); daughter in law, Alice' Butts; parents, Andrew and Elva Butts; his brothers, Wayne Routzen and Donald Butts. Funeral Services for Pete Butts will be Saturday, July 26, 2008 at 10:00 a.m. at the funeral home chapel. Interment Woodlawn Memorial Park. Visitation Friday 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at: FRED C.
