Obituary of John Liberatore

John Anthony Liberatore Age 80. Passed away Monday, January 27, 2014 at Presence Saint Joseph Medical Center. Born December 29, 1933 to the late Anthony and Concetta (nee Petro) Liberatore. Former owner of his father's shoe shop, Tony's Shoe Shop, in Lockport, IL. Later he attended Naperville North Central College and received his BA degree. After teaching several years at Rockdale Grade School, he returned to college to the University of Illinois where he obtained both a MA and administrative certificate allowing him to become a beloved and respected principal of Rockdale until his retirement. John's life centered on his family. He was passionate about researching his ancestry and the Italian culture and spent many hours reading about the history of World War II. Survived by his wife of 36 years, Dennie Liberatore; his sister, Helen Brandolino; stepdaughter, Nannette (John) Ranzini; grandchildren, Shannon, Lacy and Anthony Ranzini; nephew, David Brandolino; nieces, Toni Ann Brandolino, Diane Brandolino, Marrianne Fleming and Jackie (John) Costenaro. Preceded in death by his parents. Private Funeral Services for all of his family were held Saturday, February 1, 2014 with interment at Resurrection Cemetery.
