Obituary of Steven Rice

Steven W. Rice Age 66, of Minooka, passed away peacefully Saturday, February 1, 2014 at his home with his family by his side. Born November 22, 1947 in Cincinnati, OH. Raised in Manhattan, IL, Steve was a graduate of Lincoln-Way High School and Joliet Junior College. He served four years in the Navy during the Vietnam era. Steve retired after 30 years from ElectroMotive and was currently employed at Sams Club in the maintenance department. Survived by his two daughters, Jodine (Bill) Green of Arizona and Amy of Minooka; son, Thomas; grandson, Brock Green of Arizona; sisters, Kathy (Dan) Brookman and Donna (Jim) Sarama both of Saunemin, IL; newly found sister and brother, Susan Hoff of Waterloo, IA and Ben Liepe of Fullerton, CA; mother-in-law, Katherine Horner of LaGrange Park, IL; brothers-in-law, Dave (Sharon) Horner of North Carolina and Anthony Horner of LaGrange Park, IL; several nieces, nephews, a great-niece and great-nephew. Preceded in death by his wife, Teresa (2013); parents, Loren and Ruth Moseley; brother, Garry; and sister, Terry. The family wishes to thank the Joliet Area Community Hospice for all of their compassion and support, as well as all of the friends and neighbors who have been so helpful during this difficult time. Funeral Services for Steven W. Rice will be Friday, February 7, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. at the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home, 3200 Black at Essington Rds., Joliet.
