Obituary of Gary Stith

Gary W. Stith Age 59, of Shorewood, passed away Wednesday, February 5, 2014. Born January 31, 1955 to the late Pearl (nee Hubert) and William "Donald" Stith in Kankakee where he resided with his family until they moved to Joliet when Gary was a teen. Beloved husband of 39 years to Mary (nee Wendell); loving father of Heather (Brian) Poulsen and Todd Stith; proud papa of Mackenzie and Olivia Poulsen; dearest son-in-law of Mary Louise Wendell; fond brother of Donna Shear (Roger) Smith of St. Anne, IL and Lois (Terry) Kelly of Lockport, IL; dear uncle of several nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by his parents, Donald and Pearl (nee Hubert) Stith; and father-in-law, Emmett Wendell. Gary retired from AT&T after 37 years of dedicated service. A cognitive thinking realist, Gary excelled at multi-tasking. Through the years while working and raising his family with his beloved wife, he also furthered his education by earning a masters degree from the University of St. Francis. He enjoyed traveling, especially appreciating the national parks of our country. All friends and relatives are invited to gather on Saturday, February 8, 2014 at St. Mary Catholic Church, 303 W. St. Mary Street, Minooka, IL from 9:00 a.m. until the Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. Graveside interment will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Park in Joliet.
