Obituary of William Cain

William J. Cain, Jr. Age 67, of Joliet, passed away Thursday, February 20, 2014 at St. Luke Episcopal Hospital in Houston, TX with his family by his side. Born November 24, 1946 in Joliet, he was raised in Lockport. Bill was a veteran of the United States Air Force. He worked as a Unit Operator for Texaco Oil Refinery in Lockport, and sold real estate for Coldwell Banker. Following the Texaco plant closure, he moved to Bloomington where he resided for 20 years, and worked for the Bloomington Public Library where he was responsible for security. Bill was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed traveling with his wife and grandchildren, and fishing trips with his longtime friends, Tom Huckaba and Alfie Rodriguez. He was also a talented woodworker and operated his own retail business, "Cain's Crafts and Gifts." He was a member of the Elks Lodge, and looked forward to the Tuesday monthly lunch meetings with his classmates from Lockport Township High School. Surviving are his beloved wife of 47 years, Kathleen M. (nee Dzak) Cain of Joliet; his son, Kevin Cain of Houston, TX; his daughter, Kimberly (Jeffrey) Klepec of Bloomington; five grandchildren, Matthew, Luke, Jordan, Kaitlyn and Kylie Klepec; one brother, William "Fritz" (Paula) Lutes of Tampa, FL; a step-sister, Mary (Steve) Metz of Joliet; a step-brother, Gary (Brenda) Suska of Bloomington; a brother-in-law, John (Patricia) Dzak of Deerfield; a sister-in-law, Karen (Rex) Blasier of Baytown, TX; five nephews, Kyle Lutes, Will Lutes, John (Emily) Dzak, Christopher (Sarah) Dzak and Zachary Blasier; and two great nieces, Lily and Katerina Dzak. Preceded by his father, William J. (Evelyn) Cain; his mother, Lenora J. (nee Lombardo) (Donald) Lutes; and a nephew, Andrew Lutes. Funeral Services for William J. Cain, Jr. will be Saturday, March 1, 2014 at 9:15 a.m. from the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home, 3200 Black at Essington Rds., Joliet, to the Church of St. Jude for Mass at 10:00 a.m. Entombment will be in Resurrection Mausoleum, Romeoville.
