Dad loved garage sales. Going to them or being there when we were having one. I recall one garage sale in particular when Dad came to keep me company. It was just him and I sitting in the garage waiting for our next group of people, as usual I was chattering about what ever came to mind. Dad was his usual quiet self and started reading the paper. I then started looking through a magazine. As I sat there it dawned on me, he was content. He enjoyed being with people even when he was just his silent self. I learned something that day. You don't need to fill the air with conversation to be "connected" with someone. Just being with them is sometimes enough. Thank you Dad for the lesson and the memory. You will be missed more than you could have ever known.

Remember taking many road trips with Richard to go see Betty in Wisconsin, he loved going on road trips & taking the scenic route, I never knew how many times Rt. 12 crossed over Interstate 94, It would take us double the time to get there, but he enjoyed the ride. RIP

A man of few words, but a pleasant soul who loved his family so much. A little smirk, a "yeah", and a nod are what I'll always remember. A man who was content in sitting back and watching the chaos that comes with a large family and somehow just enjoying the peace he had within. You'll be missed Richard. God Bless!
