Obituary of Elizabeth Strysik

Elizabeth L. Strysik "Betty" Age 78, of Crest Hill, passed away Thursday, February 27, 2014 at Rosewood Care Center with her family by her side following a courageous battle with cancer. Born May 14, 1935 in Joliet, she was the daughter of George and Agnes (nee Furto) Beno and a graduate of Joliet Central High School. She worked for many years for the Diocese of Joliet. Betty was a talented artist and painter who took great pride in her home and enjoyed collecting dolls and figurines. She will be remembered as a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Surviving are her daughters, Donna (Dave) Vieceli, Wendy (Bradford) Dent of Crest Hill, and Bonnie Strysik of Joliet; her daughter-in-law, Linda Strysik of Crest Hill; eight grandchildren, Nicole Vieceli, Angela (Jason) Pilon, Tabatha and Jacob Dent, January Robinson, Seth Rowland, Laura Strysik, and Adam (Eli) Strysik; three great-grandchildren, Austin, Connor and Zoe; one brother, Donald (Annette) Beno of Florida; one sister, Marilyn Beno of Joliet; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jacob Strysik (1997); and her son, Scott Strysik (2012). A Memorial Mass for Betty Strysik will be held on Monday, March 3, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Ambrose Catholic Church, 1711 Burry Circle, Crest Hill, where visitation will take place from 9:00 a.m. until time of services. Inurnment will be in Resurrection Mausoleum, Romeoville. Memorials in her name to American Cancer Society, Vitas Hospice or Will County Humane Society would be appreciated. Arrangements by Fred C.
